Snapfinger and Pole Bridge WWTP Expansion
As one of the fastest-growing counties in the country, DeKlab County’s population of 740,000 is expected to increase to nearly 900,000 in 2025. In an effort to increase wastewater treatment capacity to support population growth, the Country expanded its Snapfinger Wasterwater Treatment Plant from 36 million gallons per day (MGD) to 70 MGD), and Pole Bidge Wastewater Treatment Plant from 20 MGD to 40 MGD.
S. L. King & Associates, Inc. (SLKA) provided mechanical, electrical plumbing, and fire protection (MEP/FP) design consulting as well as instrumentation & controls support. Since the expansion, the station has become the largest pump station in the metro Atlanta region. With an estimated construction cost of $340 million, the project was completed under budget by 10 percent.
