Scope of Work

The Big Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade was delivered through a progressive design-build approach, focused on modernizing the facility to meet current EPD standards and regulatory requirements. As part of the MEP/FP scope, S. L. King & Associates, Inc. (SLKA) provided comprehensive electrical engineering services for the replacement and expansion of the facility’s odor control system at the headworks.

SLKA’s scope included the design and integration of new scrubbers, chemical feed systems, and pumping infrastructure housed within a newly constructed odor control building. This facility also supported bar screen and grit chamber equipment. Electrical work included new motor controls, variable frequency drives (VFDs), instrumentation, underground electrical distribution, interior and exterior lighting, and fire alarm systems—all designed in compliance with NEC requirements for electrically classified hazardous areas.
