Scope of Work
S. L. King & Associates, Inc. (SLKA) provided comprehensive engineering services at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. The scope included new mechanical system designs, HVAC optimization, control system upgrades (hardware and software), energy audits, energy modeling, utility bill analysis, and the development of energy conservation measures across 700+ buildings of varying types, including industrial, commercial, and residential facilities.
With many of the facilities averaging over 25 years in age, SLKA was engaged to address aging HVAC and control equipment that had led to reduced thermal comfort and excessive energy usage. Through detailed assessments—including equipment audits, energy usage evaluations, and billing analysis—SLKA implemented targeted mechanical redesigns and system optimizations to enhance performance, increase efficiency, and reduce operational costs across the base.
