Brookhaven City Centre stands as a bold symbol of progressive, community-centered design—where innovation meets purpose. Located in the heart of Brookhaven, Georgia, this visionary municipal hub will set a new benchmark for sustainable civic architecture.
As the lead MEP/FP engineering firm, S. L. King & Associates, Inc. (SLKA) played a pivotal role in turning this concept into reality, working in seamless collaboration with our architectural partner, Sizemore Group. Our scope went far beyond traditional technical drawings—SLKA delivered integrated, high-performance solutions that champion environmental stewardship, operational efficiency, and community well-being.
Notably, Brookhaven City Centre is the first municipal building in Georgia constructed primarily from mass timber, a renewable material that reduces carbon footprint while delivering warmth and natural beauty. The facility incorporates clean air systems, abundant natural light, and energy-efficient features designed to create a healthier, more inspiring experience for all who enter.
Driven by a clear mandate to engineer building systems that are efficient, resilient, and people centric, SLKA designed a comprehensive HVAC system encompassing heating, cooling, air distribution, and advanced smoke control. These systems are carefully integrated to support occupant comfort while minimizing environmental impact.
Scheduled for completion in December 2025, the Brookhaven City Centre represents more than a construction milestone—it's a forward-thinking investment in the future of civic spaces, sustainability, and community connection.
